Meeting with CHED Regional Office VII, Cebu

On 2 July 2025, Mr. Adeshina Edward Oloje, Chargé d’Affaires, a.i., held a meeting with the officers of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Office VII in Cebu, led by Dr. Maura Consolacion Cristobal, Director IV. Officers from the Student Visa and Foreign Student Desk were also present.

The meeting focused on pressing concerns regarding the delayed issuance of mandatory Special Order (SO) numbers and Certificates of Eligibility for Admission to Medical Programs (CEAM) for Nigerian students.

The Embassy stressed the importance of timely document processing so that Nigerian students can pursue their studies without unnecessary hindrance.

CHED officials stated that they respond promptly to all applications submitted to them, and expressed their willingness to collaborate in resolving the concerns and improving communication with the institutions involved.
